Fred Garmon, PhD

FRED GARMON, PhD

Fred Garmon, the president and founder of LeaderLabs, holds a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, and a master of divinity degree with an emphasis in Ministerial Ethics. He also holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia. His doctoral dissertation research examined leadership and conflict in the ministerial context.

Dr. Garmon was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He was the last of eight children in his family, and following a very difficult upbringing, he became the first of his family to graduate from high school. He shares his personal testimony and transformational story in one of LeaderLabs sessions called “Sabotaged To Fail: Grace Enough to Succeed”.

A university-level lecturer and instructor— Fred speaks from experience, but he also understands theory and research. He is involved daily in the life of the church, serving as superintendent of Southeast Asia for Church of God World Missions; Executive Director of PCL (People for Care and Learning), a humanitarian arm of the denomination; a professor in the doctoral program of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary; serves on the board of SOW (Serving Orphans Worldwide); and he interacts regularly with administrative bishops and pastors as a leadership consultant. These activities are carried out against the backdrop of an effective 25-year career as a pastor.

Dr. Garmon has presented his ““Essential Leadership: 10 Critical Skills” material all across the United States in conferences and workshops. He has also presented it internationally in Tanzania, Hungary, England, Germany, Dubai, Philippines, Ethiopia, Singapore, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, Peru, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar.   

Fred is a marathon runner and was honored as an Olympic Torchbearer in 2002. Fred and his wife, Shirley, have two daughters and two granddaughters.

Jake Stum, PhD

JAKE STUM, PhD

Jake Stum earned his bachelor's degree from Lee University in Pastoral Ministries and his master's degree from Lee University in Biblical Studies. He completed his PhD from Regent University in Organizational Leadership in 2015. His dissertation research explored the correlation of humility and organizational leadership.

Jake has worked in many different contexts: local church ministry, international non-profit, and secular business endeavors. He has served as a consultant to churches, businesses, and non-profits in the area of leadership development. He is an effective fundraiser for many international projects because of his passion for helping the poor and vulnerable. Jake is a challenging and effective communicator who will inspire hearers to lead better for all the right reasons. He is also a published author and resides on many international boards and committees. In 2014 he received the honor of winning the "40 Under 40 Award" which is awarded to 40 people under the age of 40 who are bringing about change in the world.

Jake is currently the Assistant Director of People for Care and Learning (PCL) Jake currently resides in Cleveland, TN where he owns a local business with his wife, Merica. He and Merica have one biological son, Luke, and two adopted sons, Vismay-from India and Dosen-from Ethiopia.

Fred Toke, PsyD

FRED TOKE, PsyD

Fred Toke, a Clinical Psychologist by training, was a former adjunct professor at
Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Bible College. He is also a guest lecturer at University Malaysia Sabah’s Faculty of Medicine. Besides lecturing, he also provides clinical psychotherapy services to the downtrodden and the discouraged.

Dr. Toke also serves as a Board Member of People for Care & Learning, an NGO that helps the poor break the cycle of poverty. Currently, he is the Vice President of both Leaderlabs Inc, a US based leadership training & development organization, and also with the Singapore Psychotherapists Guild.

A much sought after speaker, Dr. Toke regularly conducts leadership, managerial and motivational training & seminars for community leaders and other Multinational Corporations such as Intel, Singapore Airlines, DBS Bank, HSBC Bank, Abbot Laboratories, Ernst & Young and many others in the Asia Pacific Region.

Dr. Toke was given the Asia-Pacific Brands Award in 2011 and was also a nominee for the Singapore’s Spirit of Enterprise award in 2009.

Bill George, DMin

BILL GEORGE, DMin

Dr. George is a graduate of Lee University, the University of Alabama, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Fuller Theological Seminary. He was on the faculty of Lee University for 13 years as associate professor of Intercultural Studies, and established the curriculum for a new college major in that academic discipline. At Fuller, he was teaching assistant to Dr. J. Robert Clinton, who led the leadership classes there. He presently serves as research and editorial assistant in the office of Dr. Mark L. Williams, general overseer of the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee.

He has been a pastor and pastoral staff member at four churches, ranging in size from 27 members to more than 2,000 members. He was a missionary in Latin America—overseer of the Dominican Republic and president of the Mexican Bible Seminary in Hermosillo, Mexico.

In Cleveland, Dr. George is a member of the denomination’s International Board of Education. He belongs to the North Cleveland Church of God, where he has served on the Church Council and member of the Finance Committee. He is a member of the Cleveland Rotary Club, where he has served as president. He is active on the boards of directors of United Way, People for Care and Learning, New Hope Pregnancy Care Center, The Cleveland Rotary Foundation, the Lowery Global Foundation, Compleo Advance, and Serving Orphans Worldwide.

Bill has written six books, including the monumental centennial history of Church of God World Missions.  He and his wife, Nelda, have two grown sons, Michael and David.
